Rev. Vickie’s sermon title is "As the Church Turns"

Dear Trinity MCC,

When I answered a call to ministry in mid-life, I never realized how God would bless me with feelings of such fulfillment.  After being ordained in 2006, it one day occurred to me that ministry had been my passion my whole life, even as a young child.  I cannot tell you how it feels to finally live out that passion.  So, if there’s a lesson in my story for anyone, it is to always listen to and follow your heart, for I believe that God resides within and is always directing us towards wholeness.

Having said that, these last five months with you at Trinity MCC have been some of my most gratifying ever.  It is hard to imagine that my mission with you has come to an end for now.  I will always cherish this time and ever hold you close in my heart and prayers.

I want to thank you.  Thank you for being a congregation who has been loving.  Thank you for being a congregation who has been willing to adapt and flex.  Thank you for being a congregation who has been willing to give when there was a need.  Thank you for being a congregation who said “yes” to God over and over again.  And, from me and Carol personally, thank you for being a congregation who has made my first lead pastorate experience a joy and a blessing.

I am so glad that you have found someone in Rev. Jim Merritt who I know is going to love you as much as I have.  I truly feel that my work at Trinity has been accomplished, and it is now time for a full-time pastor and someone like Rev. Jim who can help you continue to grow. My blessings are always extended to him and to you as you continue on.

See you on Sunday!
